Description :
Meet Alcira, Cedrid and Berkis. These women from Venezuela love their work. They cooked all the way through filming this story! And for a good reason: to get the kids’ lunches ready on time and see their happy faces. Most families in the community live off informal work. With the COVID-19 pandemic and the rise in unemployment, the number of meals served at the community kitchen has multiplied. The cooks here have a bittersweet dream: that their help here will no longer be needed.
Ellas son Alcira, Cedrid y Berkis. Estas mujeres venezolanas aman tanto su trabajo, que no pararon de cocinar en ningún momento de la entrevista. Pero tienen una buena razón : llegar a tiempo a mediodía para ver la felicidad de los niños tras recibir su almuerzo. La mayoría de las familias que viven en esta comunidad se sustentan con trabajos informales y debido a la pandemia y al aumento del desempleo, se ha duplicado la cantidad de platos que se sirven en este comedor. Sin embargo, ellas tienen un sueño agridulce : que los comedores dejen de existir.
