Description :
In early December 2020, in close collaboration with Myanmar Red Cross Society, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) team visited fives villages in Lashio township, Northern Shan State, to support some 400 families with living expenses and other essentials. This is the fourth time ICRC has provided the communities with cash grant since the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to the conflict, communities had to seek temporary shelter at nearby town/villages.
In 2020, ICRC was able to support over 4,800 people with cash assistance initiatives. With this, families are able to provide for themselves by purchasing needed food and medicines.
