Description :
70% of health facilities in the conflict-affected areas of Cabo Delgado in Mozambique are non-functional. Almost 700 health workers have left work due to insecurity. This difficult situation was compounded by the COVID-19 pandemic.
International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) president Peter Maurer met with displaced families who shared their stories, in the wake of the fighting.
The ICRC will scale up its activities in Mozambique in 2021 with a focus on supporting health services.
