Description :
On May 22, the Nyiragongo volcano erupted in the city of Goma in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, causing significant property damage and forcing many people to flee. The lava also affected the water distribution network in the northern part of the city. To meet the needs of the population, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) provided assistance in order to supply water to the affected areas. The intervention also extended to hospitals and other public places.
