Description :
Rafik Hariri University Hospital (RHUH) is the largest public university and teaching hospital in Lebanon and the forefront of the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) where all new models of interventions are tested; it is known to be the last solution for the most vulnerable to access medical treatment.
In 2016, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) started a partnership with RHUH to ensures that vulnerable patients are treated in functional and well-maintained emergency rooms and wards and that they can receive quality care in line with international standards, provided by a team of multidisciplinary trained health professionals.
Since 2019, the ICRC/RHUH partnership has counted l’Agence Française de Development (AFD) as a partner. This expansion of the existing partnership has enabled the ICRC to consolidate the partnership’s achievements and ensure their wider promotion by portraying the RHUH as a change agent and a model that could be replicated in other governmental hospitals.
