Description : More than 2 million people have been displaced by conflict in Nigeria. They are among the hardest hit by riseng inflation in the country.
People who fled their homes and lost their livelihoods due to the ongoing conflict in the Northeast of Nigeria struggle to put food on the table because of soaring inflation. This is the case of Aisha Umar. She fled her home seven years ago. She received cash from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to start a business, where she buys and sells sheep. However, rising inflation has made it hard to keep her business afloat.
In 2021, the ICRC has supported over 3,000 vulnerable persons with cash and business skills training. It will continue to support them to provide for themselves and their families
