Description : “Blackout”, a Wafa Hourani project developed by Wafa Hourani in collaboration with the International Committee of the Red Cross ( ICRC) shows the impact of recurrent power cuts by using art to reach people worldwide to recognize the gravity of this ongoing crisis.
The artwork, which comprises a total space of 1.5 square meters, has been crafted by Wafa Hourani and mirrors the life of Gaza’s streets with and without electricity. Part of the interactive artwork includes a “be part of the project” phase during which anyone can submit their personal photo, which will be incorporated permanently to live in the artwork. This specific technique is called “Photo life”.
Wafa Hourani is a Palestinian artist which works with a variety of media that include film, photography, installation, performance, music, and poetry.
