Description :
In Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), a modern facility for the care of people with disabilities has been officially inaugurated. The new Functional Rehabilitation Department (FRD) at Kinshasa general hospital, built and equipped with funding from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), offers a range of services including physiotherapy, orthopedic devices and technical walking aids. The first beneficiaries began receiving services there in early 2021.
From January to September 2021, the ICRC provided physical rehabilitation care to 1,951 people in the DRC, including 713 at the new center at Kinshasa general hospital.
