In 2021, people living in conflict zones have been affected by multi-layered crises. Not only are they facing violence,
displacement, hunger and mental health needs, COVID-19 is still spreading and the humanitarian impacts of climate chang are on the rise.
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is assisting even the most remote communities, and sometimes we are the only responders on site. It provides people with physical rehabilitation as well as psychosocial support. It ensures access to food and water where it’s lacking. It looks for missing relatives and reunite families.
Because ICRC is neutral, it can talk to all parties and promote respect for international humanitarian law (IHL) at every level.
