In Abkhazia, elderly people like Natalia, who live alone or in remote areas, are more vulnerable to COVID-19. On top of dealing with the lingering impact of the 1992-1993 conflict, elderly people often have health issues and financial difficulties. Raiko's family lives on the other side of the division line and can't support him regularly.
During the pandemic, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has been helping over 600 lonely elderly people throughout Abkhazia
