Description :
Fakii Ahmed is a fisherman in Lamu, Kenya. He has been fishing for the last 57 years. He received four environmental friendly fish traps form the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Kenya Red Cross society.
Through fishing, Fakii has been able to educate his children. He gets 8-12 kilos of fish in every catch which he sell at Kenya shilling 250 per kilo.
Over 300 families in nine villages from Lamu benefitted from this initiative and has helped them increase their daily earning, as they preserve the sea.
