Iraq has been a witness to years of conflict in the past and now climate change.
Crops ravaged by the effects of war now face the brunt of rising temperatures, droughts, declining precipitation salinization, and dust storms.
"We have lost more than 250 palm trees during the last 30 years” says Mohammed Abdul Redah, a farmer from Basra, a city in the southeast of Iraq.
He counts the losses to his once profitable orchard as he struggles to meet his expenses, living life as a farmer as now as a teacher as well.
