Description : Tpday's wars are predominantly fought in cities and towns. Unlike open battlefields, these populated areas are complicated, congested places. An autonomous weapon could easily hit a family car instead of a military vehicle or a civilian instead of a soldier. Even where autonomous weapons hit the right target, the risks for civilians and essential infrastructure will be difficults to gauge and limit, as required by the laws of war. Increasing autonomy in weapons enables militaries to attackand counterattack at vast speeds. The risk of attacks and conflicts spiralling out of human control is real.
Unpreadictable autonomous weapons should be prohibited.
