Description :
This is Santos Beni. He is 44 years old. He helps deliver humanitarian assistance to people affected by the 2013 to 2019 armed conflict in the central provinces of Mozambique. The challenge in his work are enormous. The population is in areas that are difficult to access by car, and where essentiel health services is scarce. Despite the roacky roads, rivers and long distances, Santos transports vaccines and health professionals to the country's central region. He is only able to come to this area thanks to the neutrality that he shows in his work.
Be it Mozambique or any of the 100 other countries where we work, neutrality is a fundamental principle of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
It allows the ICRC to reach the areas that are difficult to reach and most in need.
