Do you remember how you felt when you could not go out because you were too afraid? How many visits to family or friends did not happen? How many times you could not go to the store to buy food? How many times your children could not go to school?
Believe it or not, in Colombia, communities remain confined, trapped in their homes, afraid to move freely, because of mines and explosive ordnances that armed conflicts leave on their land.
What does it mean for them… Having an uncertain future. The feeling of an empty stomach at night. Losing family and friends. No longer being able to harvest their fields and to take care of their animals. Not having access to education, nor to medical services.
This is not normal, nor should it be. The presence of mines and explosive ordnances has produced the longest confinement in Colombia.
¿ Recuerdas lo que sentiste cuando no podías salir porque tenías miedo ? ¿ Cuántas visitas te quedaron pendientes a familiares o amigos ? ¿ Cuántas veces no pudiste ir a la tienda a comprar alimentos ? ¿ Cuántas veces tus hijos no pudieron ir a estudiar ?
Aunque no lo creas, en Colombia comunidades completas continúan confinadas, atrapadas en sus hogares con miedo a moverse libremente debido a la presencia de artefactos explosivos que los conflictos armados dejan en sus tierras.
¿ Qué significa para ellos ? Tener un futuro incierto Sentir el vacío de dormir con hambre Perder familiares y amigos Dejar de cosechar sus alimentos y cuidar de sus animales No acceder a servicios educativos ni médicos

La presencia de artefactos explosivos en Colombia ha producido un confinamiento que podría ser el más largo de la historia.
