Description : In the village of Kilasi in Tanganyika provinc, south-eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, mosaic disease hampers cassava production.
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has provided this community, affected by violence and armed conflict, with cuttings of a different variety of cassava. Growers have been trained in how to plant these new cuttings properly.
To tide them over until harvest time, the villagers help each other out.
In the Democratic Republic of the Congo between January and September 2022, nearly 740,000 people received food, cash asistance vouchers, household items, or support agricultural production.
