Description :
Kutkai Township in Northern Shan State of Myanmar is home to many ethnicities that have been displaced since 2012 due to the armed conflict. People from this area face several challenges at the same time, from the consequences of the violence to hazards of climate change.
In Lashio, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) works closely with the local communities and the Department of agriculture, to support the conservation of environment through different initiatives: such as local tea production, specialization of climate-friendly plants and machinery support.
Through this, the ICRC aim to build sustainable solutions to empower communities to provide for themselves.
