Description : This is the story of Ying Zung, a motorcycles mechanic from Myitkyina, in northern Myanmar.
He overcame an amputation after stepping on a landmine. As a person with disability, he also faced misperceptions by some clients on his capacity to fix motorcycles.
In 2020, he received some assistance from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), including prosthesis and support to re-open his motorcycle workshop. He is now running a sustainable business in Myitkyina with regular customers.
Like Ying Zung, the (ICRC supports many people with living with disabilities across Myanmar. Promoting social inclusion with incentives for small businesses is just one of the many ways it helps.
