In 2022 in Afghanistan, Afghan families have been facing increasing hardships. Winter further adds to people’s concerns:
Today: 24.4 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance; nearly 20 million people are facing acute food insecurity; 4.7 million people are suffering from acute malnutrition. They lack food, safe drinking water, heating material, employment, and cash.
For over 30 years, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has been supporting Afghans in many ways. Healthcare, physical rehabilitation, water and sanitation, livelihood support, reconnecting with loved ones
and visiting detainees.
ICRC continues doing our best to assist the most vulnerable. But more is needed.
