Description :
Humanitarian needs in Haiti have reached unprecedented levels since armed confrontations spiraled in Port-au-Prince. These are 5 things to know about the scalation of this humanitarian crisis: 1/ Health structures in the worst-hit areas are overcrowded by injured patients. Others had to close due to insecurity. 2/ Medical supplies are running dangerously low: including medicines and hospital beds. 3/ Movement restrictions due to insecurity remain a major obstacle to deliver desperately needed humanitarian aid. 4/ Health care staff are unable to get to their work places, leaving hospitals understaffed. 5/ Access to food, water and fuel is now cut off in many communities with devastating consequences for the most vulnerable. Our call is simple: People`s access to essential services and supplies must be guaranteed. The medical mission must be respected At all times. In all circumstances.
