Description :
Kanyabayonga, Lubero territory, north of North Kivu province. Several hundred families settled in Kanyabayonga between January and March 2024, after fleeing armed violence in the Rutshuru, Masisi and Walikale territories in the south of the province. Living with host families or in displacement sites and collective assembly centres, their living conditions are difficult, with priority needs including food, access to water and healthcare. The ICRC, in collaboration with the Red Cross of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, has distributed food to 29,046 displaced people. The aim is to meet their urgent food needs for a period of one month.
