ICRC activities in Sudan. One year after fighting broke out in Sudan, thousands of people have been killed and 8.5 million displaced. Thanks to donors, tens of thousands of people have received food, seeds, blankets and tarpaulins for shelter. Hundreds of orphans have been evacuated to safety. Hundreds of seriously injured people received life-saving surgery. More than 60,000 people have remained in contact with their loved ones and more than 2 million people have had access to drinking water.
