Description :
Can you imagine going out to play football with your friends and coming home to find yourself shot in the streets of your town? The second episode of the season presents the story of João*, a young man who, because of this event, was unable to fulfill his dream of becoming a professional footballer. Recovering physically and psychologically requires professional support and resilience. The ICRC helped to provide assistance to help João and his family cope with this situation.
*Fictious name to preserve the identity of the young man and his family.
**Elvis Posada Quiroga, who takes part in the episode, was an ICRC advisor until April 2023.
The second season of the online series ‘It's more than you see’ was produced by the International Committee of the Red Cross. The 5 episodes illustrate the ‘invisible’ effects of armed violence in Brazil on the civilian population.
