Description :
ICRC water and habitat engineer Luis Rodríguez and doctor Yusleidis Jiménez present the new equipment installed to improve medical structures and provide safer access to health and gynaecological services. For example, the delivery room has been equipped with surgical equipment, air conditioning and is supplied with electricity thanks to the installation of 4 batteries and 36 solar panels. For mothers who used to give birth at home, giving birth at the clinic means they can obtain a legal birth certificate and have their newborn's full name entered in the civil register.
