From day one, the ICRC has called for the immediate release of all hostages and for access to them.
The ICRC has recalled that hostage-taking is prohibited under international humanitarian law (IHL).
The ICRC has continually requested information about the hostages and their current state of health.
The ICRC has never stopped doing so and will continue to do so until all the hostages are released.
