A three-day seminar was held in Freetown to give journalists in Sierra Leone a better under-standing of the International Committee of the Red Cross' (ICRC) mandate and role. Also in the capital, food and other basic necessities are distributed to the disabled and to people whose houses were destroyed during the fighting. The Netland hospital has already been partly rebuilt and medical supplies are delivered to dispensaries in regions particularly hard hit by the events.
