Description :
The Matrons project is based in the Nana Gribizi prefecture of the Central African Republic, in health centres supported by the ICRC. Women from different local communities are selected to receive basic training in paediatrics. These matrons, also known as Traditional Birth Attendants, are known and respected by members of their communities. They sometimes attend home births.
