The ICRC is deeply concerned about the general deterioration of the health system in the Kivu region of eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). This deterioration is caused by armed conflict and insecurity, economic difficulties and a drastic reduction in funding for humanitarian organisations. If urgent measures are not taken, the lives of thousands of people could be at risk.
