Description :
In eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, after more than three decades of armed conflict and a new escalation in early 2025, many families who had fled to South Kivu and North Kivu began returning to their places of origin. Today, impoverished by successive displacements, the majority of returnees are struggling to feed themselves. Joseph-Ryan Nkoy, ICRC communications officer in Bukavu, describes the support provided by the ICRC to 35,000 displaced persons.
