Description :
As the monsoon season begins, many farmers in Myanmar face significant challenges in accessing the resources needed for timely rice planting, particularly in conflict-affected areas. Naw Mai and Daw Sandar Win, both displaced by the recent earthquake, share how difficult it is to obtain paddy seeds. To assist these people, the ICRC is distributing paddy seeds and organic fertilizers to farming families across Kachin, Shan, and Rakhine States, as well as in the Mandalay region. With this support, the ICRC is helping restore livelihoods and strengthen the food and economic security of people living in conflict-affected areas across the country. In 2025, the ICRC provided over 985'800 kg of quality paddy seeds and 1'310'000 kg of organic fertilizer to 16,502 farmers families across Myanmar.
