Description :
This is the story of Nazia, a six-year-old girl living in Kabul who had her leg amputated. She was taken into care by the ICRC physical rehabilitation centre in Kabul. She received a prosthesis adapted to her age as well as functional rehabilitation care. These services have enabled her to regain sufficient mobility to walk, move around independently and resume her daily activities. The ICRC's intervention is part of its physical rehabilitation programme in Afghanistan, which provides free prostheses, orthoses, wheelchairs, crutches and physiotherapy sessions to thousands of people with disabilities.
