Did you know? The ICRC visited Mandela in prison. During his 27 years of detention on Robben Island, Nelson Mandela received several visits from the ICRC. At that time, through their various exchanges, one thing particularly struck our colleagues: Mandela cared very little about his own conditions of detention. What worried him most was the conditions of the other prisoners.
