Description :
In the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, which has been affected by armed conflict for three decades, thousands of victims of sexual violence have been recorded in recent years in the provinces of North Kivu, South Kivu and Ituri. Many of the survivors registered through care facilities have not told their loved ones about the trauma they have suffered. Fearing stigmatisation, they find refuge in silence while continuing to suffer mentally and psychologically. Others, however, find comfort in the listening centres set up by the DRC Red Cross.
