Description : Om Omar, 36, a mother of four (Omar, 11; Mohamed, 5; Hiba, 8; Taliya, 7), lives in Port Sudan, a refuge for thousands displaced by Sudan's conflict. Her life was upended two years ago when her husband disappeared, leaving her to provide alone for her children’s food, safety, and education. She recalls how her husband made life "sweet and beautiful," taking care of their needs. Now, with a meager salary, she struggles to cover basic expenses and falls into debt. The emotional toll is immense, as her children, especially her eldest, constantly ask for their father. They cling to hope, watching news of detainees, but two years of silence have left her on the brink of despair. The ongoing war deepens their suffering, leaving them fearful of the future. Om Omar dreams of her husband’s return to ease their hardship and restore the emotional and practical support her family desperately needs.
