Description :
Since early December 2025, armed clashes in several territories of South Kivu have caused an influx of weapon-wounded individuals. The Red Cross of the DRC, with support from ICRC teams, evacuated dozens of injured people to the Uvira General Referral Hospital, where over 70 patients were treated between December 2 and 8. The ICRC has been supporting this hospital for several months by providing medical supplies, essential medicines, and training for healthcare staff.
