Description :
In 2025, the transit point of Ouré Cassoni, in the northeast of the country — through which two-thirds of Sudanese refugees entering Chad now pass — experienced exponential growth.Families arrive with the few belongings they were able to carry. Many have traveled for days, sometimes without food or water, fleeing extreme violence and devastation. Some arrive injured; others are deeply traumatized after witnessing loved ones being killed or raped.
Upon arrival, refugees receive immediate assistance from ICRC teams and volunteers from the Red Cross of Chad. A kit of essential items, access to water and sanitation, the opportunity to reconnect with family members from whom they have been separated, as well as psychological support services, help them regain a sense of dignity despite the terrible losses they have endured.
