Protection and assistance activities of the Red Cross in favour of victims of conflict in southern Africa.
The grave humanitarian problems caused by the spread and by the violence of the fighting in Rhodesia/Zimbabwe, with repercussions in the surrounding countries, led the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to launch a large-scale information campaign in southern Africa with a view to improving its protection and assistance to as many of the victims as possible. The documentary and other material produced by the PID in Geneva for the campaign included: a 16-mm colour film, "Challenge in Africa", shot in the country itself. It is available in eleven languages. (AR 1978)
