Description :
The story is about an International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) convoy with humanitarian assistance heading from Nalchik (Kabardino-Balkaria), where the ICRC logistics base in the North Caucasus is situated, through North Ossetia and Ingushetia for Chechnya. Russian journalists accompany the convoy and on their way interview ICRC delegates who tell them about different aspects of ICRC activities in the region. The narration is illustarted by quotations from the Geneva Convention. The convoy moves along the territory of Chechnya, making stops at several points: ICRC offices, for instance, in Pobedinskoye, Grozny, a medical point - to deliver assistance, in Grozny, where a military escort is assigned to it. The last stop was made in a dramatic situation when an armoured vehicle of the military escort at the head of the convoy blew up on a mine and several people were wounded. This time the convoy could not reach Shatoi and had to return, leaving its cargo in Grozny. The last episode is a press-conference in Moscow where the head of the Moscow delegation Thierry Meyrat briefs journalists on ICRC activities in the North Caucasus, reminding them that the conflict in the North Caucasus continues and thousands of people are still in need of assistance.
