Description : The Child Advocacy and Rehabilitation (CAR) programme, run by the Sierra Leone Red Cross Society, helps children whose lives have been shattered by war. Children and young people up to the age of 18 receive counselling, catch up on schooling and learn job skills such as tailoring and building construction. For CAR's staff, who run activities in four centres in Sierra Leone, working with communities and families is also essential to overcome the trauma and help give these children a new beginning.
