The war in Sri Lanka has hit the Vanni region particularly hard as thousands of people fled there to escape the conflict. As the pressure mounted on the health care system in the region, the ICRC responded by establishing a health project with a greater emphasis on preventive care, helping families to protect themselves from illness and training community health workers. This film presents the different aspects of this programme and illustrates how important this self-sustaining project is for the community as a whole.
