Description :
In many camps housing people displaced by the conflict in the Darfur area of Sudan conditions are likely to deteriorate further this week with the onset of torrential rain, complicating the supply of aid to the camps and leaving the displaced vulnerable to disease. The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Sudanese Red Crescent Society (SRCS) are helping to meet the needs of an estimated one million people uprooted from their homes because of the fighting. This footage shows life in Abu Shok and Kassab camps housing African displaced persons as well as some Arab villages in Northern Darfur. It includes testimony by women and men inside the camps and their Arab neighbours. It also features different statements by ICRC staff working in Darfur and describing the situation.
