Description : An International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) convoy goes out of El Fashir and crosses areas held by Sudan's government as well as Sudan Liberation Army held area's. Amidst difficult road conditions and a sand storm, the ICRC team tries to reach villagers in the mountains and distribute them seeds and agriculture tools. The ICRC also gives food for villagers to be able to concentrate on cropping their land and be ready for the next harvest in October - November. On 25th May, the ICRC will call to the parties to the conflict to respect International Humanitarian Law, take measures to install security and make it possible for farmers to cultivate their land. Most of the farmers were not able to cultivate properly because of the conflict, restriction of movement and destruction of local economy. This video report also includes footage from Abu Shok camp showing new arrivals, problems of food and water, conditions of living and problems to look towards the future as displaced people do not have the feeling they will be able to go back to their home place soon.
