Description :
This video highlights the recent developments on the Explosive Remnants of War (ERW) issue. It aims to promote greater understanding about the ERW problem and the new Protocol on Explosive Remnants of War adopted by States Parties to the Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons (CCW) in November 2003. The video's primary purpose is to serve as an information tool for International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) delegates at conferences and seminars and to increase understanding of the ERW Protocol among governments, organizations and other relevant institutions. In addition, as 2005 marks the 25th anni-versary of the CCW, the video will help highlight the important role that the Convention plays in limiting the effects of armed conflict.
