At the British Red Cross Society's Council Meeting, at 14, Grosvenor Crescent, in the presence of The Duke of Gloucester, The Princess Royal and The Princess Alexandra, the Society's highest award was presented to Monsieur Leopold Boissier.
This award, the Certificate of Honour (class I), is given in recognition of exceptional service to the Red Cross. It was instituted in 1938 and is limited to twenty five holders at any one time.
