Description :
André was separated from his family when, earlier this year, his father sent him to his uncle in Angola. His father thought he would find a better life there. But once arrived in Angola, the group with which he was was arrested by the authorities, and not having papers, André was deported to the DRC. The Red Cross immediately took care of him and began family research. Through a network of volunteers of the Red Cross Society of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and ICRC staff, he has been reunited with his grandparents and aunt in Kananga. Seen here in the family plot of his grandparents, with the ICRC's representative, who had escorted from the border a few weeks earlier.
