Description :
The car painting workshop is one of the vocational trainings offered by the PAO to the young people of the community. Other vocational trainings include upholstery, electrician, jewelry, hairdressing, basic welding, computing.

The young man was apprentice of the car painting course the year before. Although his vocational training is finished, he and three of his apprenticeship colleagues still use the place, until they find a place to create their own workshop.

In Honduras, social inequality, exclusion, absence of opportunities and a growing violence affect the population and particularly the children and the young people.
In response to this situation, the Honduran Red Cross launched the "expanding opportunities project" (Proyecto Ampliando Oportunidades (PAO)). The project strives to prevent violence by opening recreation and educational places, such as a games library, a computer school, a clinic for teenagers, a technical school, and by the integration of a network of institutions.

In December 2003, the Honduran Red Cross launched the Proyecto Ampliando Oportunidades for young people of the San Francisco neighborhood and other areas in the outskirts of Tegucigalpa. The pilot is supported by the Italian Red Cross and the Swiss Red Cross. For its part, the ICRC supports the project since 2006.
