Description :
All rehabilitation works were fulfilled in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2012 between the ICRC, the State Service for the Execution of Punishments (SSEP) and the Ministry of Health for the unification of tuberculosis treatment into one single penal institution (Penal Institution no 31).
Since 2004, the ICRC has been providing technical support to the SSEP in the effort to establish a comprehensive and sustainable control programme for multi-drug resistant tuberculosis (MDR TB) in the penitentiary system.
