Description : They have to share one bathroom with other 4 families living in the same compound. There is always shortage of water and electricity. On top of this, Amnè is taking care of her two grandchildren because their mother, who is only 20 years old, has cancer and is receiving treatment at the local hospital. The father is in Syria, they don't know anything about him.

More than 35,000 syrians have crossed into Lebanon during the past months, fleeing from fighting and violence. Many of the refugees are living with relatives or friends, but others are staying in tents villages in the Bekaa Valley, close to the Syrian border. Like many other people affected by the fighting, they continue to depend on humanitarian assistance.
The ICRC distributed essential assistance since January 2012 to syrian refugees in the Bekaa Valley, including food rations, mattresses, blankets, hygiene items, kitchen sets and other household items.
