Description :
The shelter Canal Guadalupano is a place for migrants where they can rest before continuing their journey through Mexico towards the United States. It is one of the many shelters existing in the country.
The majority of the migrants come from Central America.
The shelter Canal Guadalupano is close to a station where the trains that cross the country do stop. The catholic church runs the place.

The migrants stay a very short time in the place, to rest, to get some water and health care. The shelter has no roooms and the migrants sleep on mattresses on the floor.

Volunteer doctors come regularly to give consultation. During the week ends the Mexican Red Cross organizes consultations.

The ICRC provides medical material and medicines for common diseases (flu, fever, headaches, stomacaches, mycosis) to the shelter.
