Description :
Since 2009, the ICRC has been working in partnership with Zimbabwe Prison Service to improve the food supply chain and boost food production on prison farms. The ICRC supports 46 prisons and prison farms with seed, tools, fertilizer for leguminous crops and vegetables to enhance the nutritional status of inmates. During the 2011-2012 planting season, the ICRC increased its support from 55 hectares to over 160 hectares of leguminous crops.
